Ship it where someone can install it

Package exports, type declarations, both module formats if you must, and a fresh directory where you install your own package and use it.

  • Installable from a registry, or from a tarball, into a clean project
  • Type declarations resolve without the consumer configuring paths
  • The published tarball contains the build output and not the source tree or tests
  • A smoke test in a separate directory imports the published package and runs it

Nobody marks this for you. It goes into your phase checkpoint, where a person does.

You should now be able to

  • Publish a package that resolves correctly for its consumers
  • Verify the published artifact rather than the source
