The short version, which is the whole version.

Web Dev Open is free to use. You own what you build. We make no promise that any of it is perfect, and we will keep changing it.

If you ever paid for this site

Every subscription and purchase made on an earlier version of Web Dev Open has been cancelled. You will not be charged again, and there is nothing you need to do to stop it. No account here carries a plan, a tier or a renewal date, because none of those exist any more.

If a charge from the old site still appears on a statement, send it to webdev@theopenbootcamp.com and it will be refunded.

What it costs

Nothing. Every phase, lesson, chapter, game and interview question on this site is free. Phase 00 needs no account; the rest need an email address and no more than that.

The only paid thing OpenBootcamp offers around this course is a practice interview with a real person. It is optional, it is arranged separately, and nothing on this site is withheld from anyone who never buys one.

Your account

One email address, no password. Anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you, so keep it to yourself. Tell us at webdev@theopenbootcamp.com if you think somebody else has, and the account can be closed on the spot.

Who owns what

Everything you write, build, ship or submit is yours. Linking your work at a checkpoint lets a reviewer read it and decide on a badge; it transfers nothing.

The course itself, the writing, the diagrams, the games and the badge art, belongs to OpenBootcamp. Read it, learn from it, quote it, show it to a colleague, use anything you learn in paid work. Do not republish it wholesale as your own course.

Chat

Chat is a room with other learners in it. Be decent. Harassment, hate, spam and anything illegal get an account removed, and nothing said there is stored, so there is no appeal to a transcript.

What we do not promise

The course is provided as it is. It is written carefully and checked, and it will still contain mistakes; the web changes faster than any curriculum. Nothing here is professional advice, and following it is not a guarantee of a job, a salary or a passing interview.

Chapters get rewritten, games get added, sections get renamed, and the site can be unavailable without notice. If something important changes, the date at the top of this page moves.
